Hopi Ear Candling - Treatment Procedure
For the treatment the client is made to
feel comfortable lying on a couch, the candle is then lit
and placed gently over the entrance to the auditory canal.
During the burning process the ear feels pleasantly warm.
Recipients of the treatment fall asleep; the whole process
is relaxing and non- invasive. The candles work on a chimney
principle, drawing any impurities/wax to the surface where
they are gently removed. It is always important to do both
ears to satisfy the principle of balance.

What is Hopi Ear Candling? This treatment is also known as Hopi ear candle treatment
and "candling". It is a very ancient therapy, which spans
millennia and cultures from around the world.
There is evidence of candle therapy from cave drawings in
Europe and some of the earliest records of this ancient
therapy date back to 3000 years ago, the ear coning was a
lost energy art practiced by the Egyptians and Hopi Indians
Mayans and Tibetans. The ancient Egyptians used papyrus
rolled into a cone and the Greek upper class used candling to evoke mental clarity and
a deeper spirituality.
Other cultures: The oriental doctors of Thailand, China,
India and the Philippines have included the processes as a
routine part of their regular practice of medicine. North
America: When Europeans first came to North America they
found that the Indians had many different ways of healing.
One of those ways was ear candling some tribes were very
advanced in healing the Hopi was one of them.
More up to date then, in modern Spain, Mexico, Greece and
Italy the candling process is preformed as a folk remedy for
sinus problems, headaches etc.
Rolled up newspapers are used for ear candling in South
America and Mexico.
Reeds are still used by the Hopi Indians, Chocotow don't use
cones they blow the smoke of the herbs into the ear canal.
Medical students in Germany are taught ear candling as part
of their medical practice. Rapidly gaining in popularity by holistic health
practitioners thousands of people have found relief from a
wide assortment of alignments. The ear candles are made from pure beeswax, honey extract
and traditional herbs such as sage, St John's wort,
Chamomile and pure essential oils all enclosed in a hollow
woven cotton tube.
The ear candles are about 22cms long and have a burning time
of 10- 12 minutes. |
